Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park

Gazing across the bowl of an active volcano sends shivers down your spine. It is absolutely humbling to witness the immense pressure of earth forces. This volcano is called Kilauea and you are looking at the Halema'uma'u Crater.

Lava Glow

Rise and shine! That alarm went off at 4am for an early morning walk to the ocean's edge, where fire meets water. Those billows of smoke rise up endlessly, as the flowing lava leaves its trail of blackened crust. So amazed by another Big Island wonder!

Green Sand Beach Hike

Here are some photos from our honeymoon in Hawaii! Day one was an oceanside hike to Papakolea Beach where the sand is green from an accumulation of a mineral called Olivine. Soaking up these gorgeous views at the very southern tip of the Big Island!
